Ricochet: WWE “Didn’t Really Let Me Know They Wanted Me To Stay”

Ricochet’s tenure with WWE ended in June 2024 after his contract expired. He was written off television on the June 10 episode of WWE Raw following an attack by Bron Breakker that saw him put through a car windshield. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion has since joined AEW, making his debut at All In 2024.

Speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Ricochet was asked if he felt that WWE was serious about retaining his services once his contract was up for renewal. Ricochet explained that from his point of view, the company did not make a significant effort to keep him. He noted that while an offer was made, the two sides were unable to come to an agreement on terms.

“For me, they didn’t try. They made an offer, we just couldn’t agree, okay, I’m out,” Ricochet said. “They didn’t, for me at least, they didn’t really let me know they wanted me to stay. Who knows if that would have changed my mind anyway. This is just my experience. They may feel different. I didn’t feel they really sat me down and were like, ‘We want you to stay.’ Everyone has different experiences. That’s just how I felt.”

Since joining the AEW roster, Ricochet has quickly become a featured performer. Check out the full interview here:
