Stephanie McMahon has made it clear that she has no plans to step back into a WWE ring for another match. Despite the wrestling tradition of retirements not always being permanent, McMahon stated that the current women’s division is far too talented for her to compete against at this stage in her life.
During the latest episode of her “What’s Your Story?” podcast, with WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella as her guest, the topic of in-ring retirement came up. Stephanie recalled being asked about a potential return during the pre-show for the all-women’s Evolution pay-per-view and confirmed that her answer today remains the same.
“Big E asked me on the pre-show, he goes, ‘Do you have one more match in you?’ And I’m like, ‘No.’ I’m like, ‘Have you seen this division?!?’ Same thing [now]. I’ll embarrass myself and the business if I try to hang with these women. But you’re in there doing it.”
Stephanie McMahon’s last official match took place at WrestleMania 34 in April 2018. In that mixed tag team match, she teamed with her husband, Triple H, in a losing effort against Kurt Angle and the debuting Ronda Rousey. Her last singles match was several years prior to that, when she defeated Nikki’s sister, Brie Bella, at the SummerSlam pay-per-view in 2014.
