Tiffany Stratton Update Ahead Of Tonight’s WWE SmackDown

According to fans in Toledo, Ohio, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton was seen arriving at the Huntington Center for tonight’s broadcast of Friday Night SmackDown. Her presence at the arena is notable due to the unconfirmed status of her championship match at tomorrow’s Wrestlepalooza premium live event.

A Triple Threat Match for the WWE Women’s Championship featuring Stratton defending against Jade Cargill and Nia Jax has been the expected direction for Wrestlepalooza. However, the match has not been officially announced by WWE. Reports earlier this week indicated that Stratton was not medically cleared to compete, which placed the title match in question. Her arrival at SmackDown could indicate a change in her clearance status, with a potential announcement regarding the match happening on tonight’s show.

The status of the WWE Women’s Championship match is one of several items of interest for tonight’s SmackDown, which is the final WWE television broadcast before Wrestlepalooza. Below is everything advertised for tonight’s show:

A contract signing is scheduled between Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and his Wrestlepalooza challenger, Drew McIntyre.

Brock Lesnar is also scheduled to appear on SmackDown for an interview. The segment will be held ahead of his scheduled match against John Cena at Wrestlepalooza.

Two championship matches are scheduled for tonight’s broadcast. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, will defend their titles against Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre. The match was made following a previous on-screen attack by Green on Flair.

In the second title bout, United States Champion Sami Zayn is set to hold another Open Challenge. Carmelo Hayes has publicly stated that he will be accepting the challenge and will face Zayn for the championship on the show.
