Ricochet Questions WWE’s Move To ESPN, Says AEW All Out “Was Way Better Than A C”

AEW star Ricochet has weighed in on the social media discussion surrounding the official ESPN review of this past weekend’s WWE Wrestlepalooza event. The review from WWE’s new broadcast partner gave the premium live event a “C” grade, a rating that has caused considerable debate among fans online.

The AEW star took the opportunity to not only praise his own company’s show, All Out, which took place on the same day, but also to question WWE being featured on a sports network. The ESPN review of Wrestlepalooza noted that the show “fell a little short of expectations” and that the match between Stephanie Vaquer and Iyo Sky for the vacant Women’s World Championship saved the event from receiving an even lower grade.

The review and online discussion caught the attention of Ricochet, who took to social media to share his thoughts. In his initial post, he compared the quality of the two shows that ran on Saturday, writing, “I know our show was way better than a C. 😂👑 #Ahaa”.

In a follow-up post, Ricochet took aim at recent comments made by WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H, who has repeatedly stated that WWE is not a “real sport” but rather a “show/movie about a sport”. Ricochet pointed out the irony of this positioning now that the company’s biggest events are on ESPN. He tweeted, “Also what’s funny to me is how a show where they have said over over that they aren’t a “real sport” and its more of a TV show about the wrestling company. But they are on ESPN a SPORTS TV channel? 😂 Make it make sense. Lol”.

AEW’s All Out took from Toronto, Canada, in the afternoon, while WWE’s Wrestlepalooza took place in Indianapolis, Indiana, in the evening. Ricochet was a featured performer on the All Out card, teaming with the Gates of Agony as “The Demand” to defeat The Hurt Syndicate in a trios match.
