WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash is in no hurry to have his life story told on screen. On the latest episode of his “Kliq This” podcast, Nash revealed that he was recently approached about being the subject of a personal documentary, but he has significant reservations about the idea.
“I had somebody just approach me to do a documentary about me,” Nash confirmed after a discussion about a recent Charlie Sheen documentary.
When asked by co-host Sean Oliver if he was considering it, Nash’s response was immediate. “Well, I was, until I watched that last night,” he said, referencing the Sheen film. “No, I don’t… I’m too private.”
His primary concern is a lack of control over the final product. Nash explained that he is not comfortable giving the “power of edit” to a filmmaker, regardless of who it is. “No matter what, I’m still giving the power of edit to that guy,” he stated. “It won’t be [me]. What’s the upside? What’s the pay?… It’s my life.”
Nash further explained that he is not motivated by a desire to shape public perception or tell his side of the story for the validation of others.
“I don’t care,” he said. “I don’t give a f— what Joe Schmo thinks about me.” He added that the idea of his story potentially inspiring or helping people is not a strong enough driver for him to open up his private life in that manner.
