John Cena Teases One More Match With WWE Rival

John Cena is not letting his recent loss to Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza slow him down, as he has already teased a major match for his ongoing retirement tour. In a post on X, Cena directly addressed former WWE Champion AJ Styles, simply posting “#CenavsStyles Thoughts? #WWERaw.” The post has sent the wrestling world into a frenzy, as a final match between the two rivals is a match that fans have been hoping to see before Cena’s in-ring career concludes at the end of the year.

With only five dates remaining on his retirement tour, every match is significant, and a final battle with “The Phenomenal One” would be a fitting addition to his farewell run. The rivalry between John Cena and AJ Styles was memorable for their great matches. Their first major bout took place at Money in the Bank in 2016, a match that Styles won with the help of his partners in The Club, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

The feud continued throughout that year, ending in a match at the Royal Rumble in 2017, where Cena defeated Styles to win his record-tying 16th world championship. While Cena has been a featured attraction on his retirement tour, AJ Styles has recently been in a feud with Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship. Styles challenged for the title at SummerSlam and in a rematch on Raw, but came up short on both occasions.

As of now, Cena is advertised for the upcoming WWE Crown Jewel premium live event in Perth, Australia, on October 11, though he does not yet have a confirmed opponent for the show. His tease of a match with Styles could be an indication of what is planned for that major international event, or it could be for a future episode of Monday Night Raw as he makes his final appearances for the company.
