“Blue Evening,” Starring Killer Kross (WWE’s Karrion Kross), Details Upcoming Festival Screenings In Burbank And Raleigh

The independent film “Blue Evening,” which stars and is executive produced by wrestler Killer Kross (Kevin Robert Kesar), has been selected for several new film festivals. Kross also confirmed he will attend the film’s screening at the Burbank International Film Festival on September 25th (tomorrow).

Kross announced that the film has been accepted into The Billy The Kid Film Fest in Texas, the Red Brick Road Film Fest in Oklahoma, and the North East International Film Festival in the UK. At the Red Brick Road Film Fest, “Blue Evening” has been nominated for five awards: Best Worldwide Short Film, Best Director, Best Cinematographer, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor. Kross confirmed he will be at the Burbank screening alongside Writer/Director Jett Jansen Fernandez and Producer Cory DeMeyers.

“Blue Evening” tells the story of a homeless addict in Los Angeles who stumbles upon a lost masterpiece in a thrift store, setting him on a journey of redemption, survival, and self-discovery. The film is written and directed by Jett Jansen Fernandez and stars Gustavo Ramirez, Kevin Robert Kesar, Sari Sanchez, and Sammy Horowitz.The film has already received multiple accolades during its festival run. It was named the Best Drama Short winner at the 2025 Chain NYC Film Festival and won for Best Actor at the Pasadena International Film Festival. It was also a semi-finalist at the Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival and the Burbank International Film Festival.

The creative team behind “Blue Evening” features multiple figures with backgrounds in professional wrestling and stunt work. Kesar, known to wrestling fans as Killer Kross or Karrion Kross, is an executive producer and actor on the film and recently released his first book, “Life is Fighting.” Writer/Director Jett Jansen Fernandez is a first-generation Cuban-American filmmaker with experience in stunts, acting, and producing. Producer Cory DeMeyers also began his career as a stuntman, earning two Emmy nominations and a SAG Award before moving into filmmaking.

In addition to the Burbank screening on September 25th , “Blue Evening” is also scheduled to be screened at the Raleigh Film and Art Festival, which runs from October 3rd to the 6th.
