Lacey Lane, known to WWE fans as former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Kayden Carter, will make her Ring of Honor debut on this Thursday’s episode of ROH on HonorClub. In her first match for the promotion, Lane will immediately challenge for a championship, as she is set to face Mina Shirakawa for the interim ROH Women’s World Television Championship.
Lane was released from her WWE contract earlier this year, making this her first appearance for a major American wrestling promotion since her departure. Her debut in a championship match positions her as an immediate contender in the ROH women’s division.
In addition to Lane’s debut, several other matches have been announced for the upcoming broadcast. The ROH World Tag Team Championship will be on the line as the champions, The Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett), will defend their titles against The Infantry (Carlie Bravo & Shawn Dean).
Two Proving Ground matches are also scheduled for the show. In these bouts, a champion faces a non-champion; if the non-champion wins or lasts the time limit, they earn a future championship opportunity. ROH World Television Champion
Kyle Fletcher will face Willie Mack, and Deonna Purrazzo will take on Red Velvet.
The ROH Pure Championship will also be defended under Pure Rules, as champion
Wheeler Yuta is set to face “Bad Dude” Tito. Other announced matches include a singles bout between
“The Fallen Goddess” Athena and Diamante, and a trios match pitting The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch) & Evil Uno against The Iron Savages (Bronson & Boulder) & Jacked Jameson.
