WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker has directly addressed the fan criticism surrounding his wife, Michelle McCool, becoming the new co-host of his Six Feet Under podcast. On the latest episode of the show, “The Deadman” pushed back against fans who have claimed that McCool’s involvement has negatively impacted the quality of the podcast. He made it clear that the change was his decision and that he would not let the negativity from some corners of the internet affect the project.
The Undertaker’s statement follows a period of transition for the popular podcast, which has undergone significant changes since being acquired by WWE. The Undertaker had co-hosted the show with Matthew Lyda, but Lyda was removed from the podcast following its acquisition by WWE, with McCool stepping in as the new co-host.
The change was met with backlash from a segment of the show’s audience, who took to social media to voice their displeasure. The Undertaker was direct in his response to these critics. “Look, this is where we’re at. This is the direction I wanted to take the show,” he stated. He continued, “Whether you like it or don’t like it, I do this, we do this for fun. And if you get entertained, then be entertained. If you’re not entertained, you don’t like it. This is America, and you get to do whatever you want.” He added by telling his listeners to “Relax and enjoy the ride.”
McCool’s increased presence in WWE-related media extends beyond the podcast. She was also added to the cast of the second season of the WWE reality series LFG, a move that was also reportedly at The Undertaker’s request. Her addition to the show coincided with the removal of fellow former champion Mickie James, which fueled online speculation that James was cut to make room for McCool. While some fans may prefer the old format of the Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker has made it clear that he is moving forward with his wife as his co-host and creative partner.
At the recent WWE Wrestlepalooza premium live event, he made a surprise appearance to announce that Stephanie McMahon will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026. Check out the podcast below.
