The details surrounding John Cena’s final match are expected to be announced by WWE within the coming week, with a potential announcement as early as this Sunday, September 28. According to a report from WrestleVotes Radio, the company is preparing to reveal the plans for the 17-time world champion’s career-concluding bout.
The match is currently scheduled to take place at a special Saturday Night’s Main Event on Saturday, December 13, in Washington, D.C. As Cena’s 25-year career winds down, the wrestling world is awaiting the announcement of his final opponent and the circumstances under which he will say his final farewell to the ring.
Cena’s retirement tour has been a major storyline for WWE throughout 2025, with the future Hall of Famer making a series of special appearances on both Raw and SmackDown, as well as competing at several premium live events. His final run has seen him face a mix of old rivals and new stars, including a recent match against Brock Lesnar at the inaugural Wrestlepalooza and a high-profile program with Cody Rhodes that saw them trade the Undisputed WWE Championship.
In recent days, Cena has been part of a social media campaign to secure one last match with another of his greatest rivals, AJ Styles, a bout that has now been made official for the upcoming Crown Jewel event in Perth, Australia. The remaining schedule for John Cena’s WWE career is now down to just a handful of dates.
Following his match with Styles at Crown Jewel on October 11, he is scheduled for two appearances on Monday Night Raw in November, first in Boston on November 10 and then in New York City on November 17. His final premium live event appearance is set for Survivor Series in San Diego on November 29.
