Title Match Added To Tonight’s WWE SmackDown

WWE has announced a new match for tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, which will emanate from the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida. The show will feature two major championship matches and an appearance by the Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, as the build to the Crown Jewel premium live event continues.

For the fourth consecutive week, Sami Zayn will put his United States Championship on the line in an open challenge, continuing his mission to be a fighting champion. He won the title from Solo Sikoa in August and has since successfully defended it against top stars like John Cena, Rey Fenix, and Carmelo Hayes. His opponent for tonight’s open challenge has not yet been named.

The other major title match of the evening has implications for the upcoming Crown Jewel event in Perth, Australia. Tiffany Stratton will defend her WWE Women’s Championship in a triple threat match against Jade Cargill and Nia Jax. The winner of the match will not only leave as champion but will also advance to Crown Jewel to face Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer to determine the 2025 women’s Crown Jewel Champion.

Also scheduled for the broadcast is an appearance by Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, who will continue to build his champion vs. champion clash with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, which is also set for Crown Jewel on October 11. Rounding out the announced card is a women’s tag team match pitting Michin & B-Fab against Women’s US Champion Giulia & Kiana James.
