WWE Star Wins TNA Knockouts Championship At Victory Road

At the TNA Victory Road event tonight, Kelani Jordan of WWE’s NXT brand defeated Lei Ying Lee to win the vacant TNA Knockouts World Championship. The match, which featured fellow NXT star Indi Hartwell as the special guest referee, was made after the title was forfeited earlier in the evening.

The championship was vacated when the previous champion, Ash By Elegance, announced she was stepping away from in-ring competition and had to relinquish the title. This led to the impromptu match between Jordan and Lee to crown a new champion.

The finish of the contest involved a sequence of events with the special guest referee. Jordan went for her finisher, “One of A Kind,” on Lee but accidentally struck Indi Hartwell in the process. Lee then hit her finisher, “Thunderstruck,” but Hartwell was incapacitated and could not make the count.

After Hartwell recovered, she counted a near fall for Lee before Jordan kicked out. Following an exchange of near falls, Jordan hit a stunner variation on Lee, followed by the “One of A Kind” to secure the pinfall and win the championship.

Following the match, it was announced that Kelani Jordan’s first defense of the TNA Knockouts World Championship will take place at the Bound for Glory pay-per-view on October 12. Her opponent will be the special guest referee from tonight’s match, Indi Hartwell.

As the new champion celebrated in the ring, the former champion, Ash By Elegance, appeared on the stage. She met Jordan, hugged her, and congratulated her on the victory.
