WWE Star Announces Departure: “I’m Gonna Trust My Gut On This”

WWE NXT star Edris Enofe has announced that he is leaving the company after a four-year tenure with the developmental brand. In a video released on his Twitter account, he confirmed his departure, stating that it was a decision he had thought about for a “very long time.” He expressed his gratitude to the wrestlers, coaches, staff, and fans who supported him during his time in WWE. His exit marks the end of a run that saw him become a consistent presence in the NXT tag team division alongside his partner, Malik Blade.

“As of today, I will officially be leaving the WWE. This is a decision I have thought about for a very long time, and I’m gonna trust my gut on this,” Enofe said in his video. “With that being said, for the past 4 years I have had the chance to meet and work with incredible people, from the wrestlers, to the referees, the creative teams, the medical staff and of course all the coaches who put in so much time and effort into making me better, and for that I will always, always appreciate y’all. And of course to all the fans who have supported me through all these years, thank you.”

Edris Enofe, real name Inyene Umoh, signed with WWE in 2021 after completing his service in the U.S. Navy. After training at the WWE Performance Center, he made his television debut in September of that year and quickly formed a tag team with Malik Blade. The duo became a staple of the NXT tag team division. They were notably standout performers in the 2022 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, a run that solidified their status as a fan-favorite team on the brand.

Unfortunately, Enofe’s momentum was halted in August 2024 when he suffered a significant shoulder injury that required surgery, keeping him out of action for several months. He was medically cleared to return to the ring in February 2025 and had recently been making his way back into the fold on NXT programming.
