On today’s Busted Open Radio, hosts Dave LaGreca and Bully Ray analyzed the main event segment from last night’s WWE Monday Night Raw, focusing on the post-match interaction between the returning Roman Reigns and Jey Uso. After Reigns interfered to help The Usos win their Tornado Tag Team match, the segment concluded with Reigns endorsing Jey, to the exclusion of his brother, Jimmy.
Immediately following the match, Reigns entered the ring and singled out Jey Uso for a hug and a private conversation, while Jimmy Uso was shown in the background. Dave LaGreca described what was said during the exchange between Reigns and Jey.
“Here’s Roman acknowledging Jey Uso, giving the hug to Jey Uso, saying, ‘Hey, man, this is your time now,'” LaGreca stated. “He cursed. They had to mute out. I think he dropped an F bomb in there, like, almost like, ‘F— em, this is your time. Now, this is all about you take it. It’s yours.’ And he’s saying this right to Jey Uso”.
LaGreca interpreted this moment as an endorsement of Jey’s recent actions, which have been in contrast with Jimmy’s attempts to be a peacemaker. He suggested that Reigns may view Jimmy’s approach as a negative. “His kindness is looked at as a weakness,” LaGreca said. “Jey Uso is completely the opposite of that. And he’s actually saying, ‘You know what, I need to start thinking more like Roman does.’ And here’s Roman acknowledging Jey Uso”.
The hosts noted that the nature of the ending led to different interpretations of Jimmy Uso’s reaction. Bully Ray questioned the motivation behind Jimmy’s confused look. “Was Jimmy looking at Roman with that look in his eyes because Roman came down to make the save? Or was Jimmy looking at Roman with that look in his eyes because he’s paying too much attention to Jey Uso?” Bully asked.
Bully Ray also questioned the logic of the interference itself, pointing out that The Usos required help to win the match. “If Roman Reigns doesn’t come to the ring last night, the Usos lose that match,” Bully stated, explaining that a babyface team shouldn’t need outside help to win a fair contest.
The hosts also discussed the current power structure within The Bloodline. LaGreca stated his view on the hierarchy, placing Jey Uso as the second-in-command. “I really feel like it’s those three guys, and Roman’s a definitive one, Jey’s a definitive two, and Jacob [Fatu], right now is a definitive three,” LaGreca said, noting that others, including Jimmy Uso, are on the outside.
The segment concluded with the visual of Roman and Jey celebrating while Jimmy looked on, which LaGreca suggested was an intentional cliffhanger. “Maybe the WWE doesn’t want it to be that abrupt right now,” LaGreca speculated. “Maybe they’re planting a seed and they’re gonna let it water, and then we’re going to see what happens over the course of the next couple weeks”.
