Bishop Dyer (Baron Corbin) Reveals His Surprised Reaction To John Cena Using The “End Of Days”

During WWE’s Clash at the Castle event in Paris, John Cena made a surprise appearance and delivered a shocking move, hitting Logan Paul with the “End of Days,” the signature finisher of Bishop Dyer. In a new exclusive interview on “The Velvet Ropes with SoCal Val,” Dyer—who competes this Saturday at MLW Slaughterhouse in Long Beach—shared his candid reaction to the moment, revealing he was completely unaware it was going to happen.

Dyer explained that he wasn’t watching the show live and was first alerted to the moment when his phone was flooded with social media notifications. “I was just playing with my kids on the couch or something, and I looked at my phone and it was like 97 Twitter notifications. I was like, ‘What the hell? What did I do?'” he recalled. “I opened it, and it’s just flooded with Cena hitting Logan Paul at the end of days.”

He confirmed that Cena never gave him a heads-up, which he feels is part of what makes the gesture so special. “He obviously didn’t tell me. And I think that’s what makes John special, is he’s not gonna like, ‘Hey, you should watch the show,'” Dyer said. “He just does it. And if you’re paying attention, you’ll know it’s for you.”

Dyer interpreted the moment as a sign of respect from the 16-time world champion, citing Cena’s post-show comments where he explained it was his way of honoring peers he may not get a chance to share the ring with again. “It was like a cool like tip of the cap from him to me for what we’ve done together and how much he’s helped me in my career,” Dyer stated. “I would have to hit 500 AAs to give him the respect that he has bestowed on me, career wise, and the knowledge and also friendship.”

The conversation also touched on their friendship outside the ring, with Dyer sharing a humorous story about a recent text exchange over their coffee preferences. “I said cortados beat flat whites seven days of the week. And he was like, ‘Well, I’m glad you found something you love.’ And I was like, ‘You frick.’ Like, I’m trying to start a fight with you. And he knows me too well to play into my traps,” he laughed.

Dyer also had a playful warning for WWE commentator Wade Barrett, who was on the call for the match. “I have to fight Wade Barrett at some point now, because he called it like some kind of Flatliner thing. And I was like, ‘No, you dick, it’s the End of Days,'” he joked. Click below to watch the entire interview.
