Andrade El Idolo Had Numerous Wellness Policy Violations Over The Last Year In WWE, Per Multiple Sources

Following Andrade El Idolo’s return to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), a report from PWInsider.com has provided details on his recent WWE release, explaining why he was not subject to a 90-day non-compete clause.

According to the report, which cites multiple WWE sources, Andrade was released due to “numerous WWE Wellness violations over the last year”. Sources contacted by WrestlingNews.co have since confirmed the accuracy of this report.

Due to the circumstances of the release, WWE made the decision to “cut Andrade outright,” making him a free agent immediately, rather than paying him for the standard 90-day non-compete period that would have prevented him from appearing for other promotions. His prior bookings for independent events in Mexico and the United States served as an early indication of his free agent status.

This is not the first time Andrade has been connected to a WWE Wellness Policy issue. In January 2020, during his first run with the company, Andrade was suspended for 30 days for his first violation of the policy. That suspension was publicly announced by WWE at the time.

Andrade’s return to AEW last night was possible due to his status as an immediate free agent upon his departure from WWE, which was prompted by the aforementioned Wellness Policy issues.
