The Godfather Reveals He And The Undertaker Once Lost $62,500 At A Casino

WWE Hall of Famer The Godfather (Charles Wright), in a new interview with Esportsbets.com, shared a story about a night out with The Undertaker that resulted in a significant casino loss and offered his thoughts on Vince McMahon’s future in the wrestling business.

Speaking to Esportsbets.com, The Godfather recalled that while he and The Undertaker would spend most of their nights on the road at strip clubs, one diversion to a casino proved costly. “Casinos weren’t my thing, but one night it was my thing, and I think we both pulled out like 50Gs or something, and lost all that money”. The amount lost was £50,000, which is approximately $62,500 USD.

He explained the aftermath of the night, stating, “By the time we sobered up the next day, he’s like, ‘Did you see your American Express bill?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I did, man.’ That was the one and only time I did something stupid like that. We were betting a thousand, two, five thousand dollars, $10,000 hands”. He noted that strip clubs were a frequent destination for the entire roster in that era because it was a “good place to hang out and not get harassed” by fans.

The Godfather also gave his opinion on whether Vince McMahon would start a rival promotion to WWE. “I can’t see Vince starting a rival organisation,” he said. “He’s 80 years old. I don’t know why he would. Dude’s got billions of dollars, why not just enjoy life?”.

He also shared a brief story from McMahon’s 80th birthday party, confirming he was in attendance. “Vince rented out a whole hotel, so it was just us,” he said. “There was a cocktail party the night before. Me, Taker, Bruce Pritchard, Booker T and somebody else had a shot of Jack, and that’s the only shot I had”.

Finally, he gave his thoughts on Hulk Hogan’s legacy in the business. “He did a lot for wrestling in the 80s. He brought wrestling back in a time when it was dying, so he opened the doors up for a lot of things,” The Godfather stated. “He’s the man”.
