The “I Believe in Joe Hendry” movement continued its tour of the Sunshine State this past weekend, as the TNA star made another appearance at a WWE NXT live event. Hendry competed at the house show in Gainesville, Florida, on Saturday, where he defeated Cutler James of the DarkState faction in a singles match. His continued presence at NXT house shows, even as the on-screen invasion angle between the two promotions heats up.
Joe Hendry has been one of the top acts in the historic partnership between WWE and TNA. The former TNA World Champion has become a fan favorite in both companies, with his “I Believe in Joe Hendry” entrance theme becoming a viral sensation. He has made numerous appearances on NXT television, competed in the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble, and even had a match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania.
Within the TNA storyline, his loyalty has been questioned by his peers, which led to him being left off of Team TNA for the upcoming “NXT vs. TNA Showdown” special. Despite this, Hendry has declared that he will be at the event, inserting himself into the show even without an official role. TNA President Carlos Silva recently addressed the rumors of Hendry eventually signing with WWE, confirming he is still under a TNA contract but adding the ambiguous statement, “he is until he’s not.”
The Gainesville show also featured a number of other notable matches, including Maxxine Dupri & Anthony Luke defeating Arianna Grace & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo in a mixed tag team match, Lola Vice picking up a victory over Kali Armstrong, and a win for the NXT Tag Team Champions, DarkState, in a triple threat match.
