Former two-time NXT Champion Killer Kross, formerly known as Karrion Kross, is returning to MLWg. During the company’s “Slaughterhouse” event on Saturday night, a video package aired to hype the impending return of Kross. The video confirmed that Kross will be back in an MLW ring at their next event, “Lucha de los Muertos,” a collaboration with Don Gato Tequila, which is scheduled for November 20 in Charleston, South Carolina. The video, which featured imagery from a music video Kross released shortly after his recent WWE departure, with the definitive statement, “Killer Kross fights in MLW,” indicating that he will be in action at the event.
Kross’s return to MLW is a significant move for both the wrestler and the promotion. Before his first run with WWE, Kross was a popular performer in MLW, where he established himself as a main event player. His return to the company immediately positions him as a top contender and a major attraction for the league.
This is the latest in a series of high-profile independent bookings for Kross since his WWE contract expired in August of this year. His last match for WWE was a loss to Sami Zayn at SummerSlam, and since becoming a free agent, he has wasted no time getting back into the ring.
He has already competed for a number of top independent promotions, including DEFY and WrestlePro. Just this past Friday, he was in a major tag team match, teaming with JD Drake against the duo of Darby Allin and the debuting Steven Borden, the son of the legendary Sting.
