Soon-to-be TNA Hall of Famer Velvet Sky has revealed the intricate and emotional story of how she and her partner in The Beautiful People, Angelina Love, were surprised with the news of their induction. During a new interview on “The Velvet Ropes with SoCal Val,” Sky detailed the elaborate ruse orchestrated by TNA’s Tommy Dreamer to ensure the moment was a complete shock. Sky explained that Dreamer initially reached out to her and Love to be a part of the upcoming Bound for Glory pay-per-view, which she said was an immediate “yes” due to the event’s personal significance. The initial plan presented to them was a simple on-stage promo segment. Later, Dreamer asked them to participate in a video interview about the history of Bound For Glory, which they were told would be part of a larger package featuring other TNA alumni.
“He was like a package was going to be put together with a bunch of TNA alumni and current stars, you know, just giving their two cents on how they feel about TNA and Bound for Glory,” Sky explained. “So we were like, great.” It was during this staged interview that the surprise was sprung.
While Dreamer was asking them questions, TNA President Carlos Silva suddenly appeared on the video call. Even then, Sky said they didn’t suspect anything. After some pleasantries, Silva delivered the bombshell. “He was like, ‘We want you to come and be inducted into the 2025 TNA Hall of Fame.’ And I immediately just started bawling,” Sky recalled. “Literally nothing catches me off guard… but I was not expecting that at all. I mean, we both, Angelina and I, we both just teared up. It was just so exciting.”
After Silva left the call, they were left to confront a triumphant Dreamer. “I’m like, you work the worker,” Sky laughed. “Workers never get worked, but we did. And it was like, such a wonderful surprise.” Dreamer admitted the entire interview premise was a setup to catch them completely off guard.
Sky stated the surprise made the honor “that much more special.” The Beautiful People will be inducted alongside Mickie James as part of an all-female Hall of Fame class at the Bound for Glory event this Sunday, October 12th, in Lowell, Massachusetts.
