Following the injury at the AEW Collision taping on October 8, an update has been provided on the condition of AEW star Kota Ibushi. According to a report from PWInsider.com, Ibushi is believed to have suffered a broken femur. As noted earlier, he was transported to a local medical facility in the Jacksonville, Florida area for further evaluation.
The incident occurred during Ibushi’s match against Josh Alexander, which was being taped for Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision. According to fan reports from the live event, the injury happened when Ibushi fell from the turnbuckle, landing awkwardly on the floor outside the ring. The match was immediately stopped by the referee as medical officials rushed to ringside to assess his condition.
On-site accounts and fan-shot video quickly circulated on social media, showing the seriousness of the situation. Medical personnel were seen carefully attending to Ibushi at ringside for several minutes. He was then placed onto a stretcher and transported away from the ring and up the entrance ramp.
Prior to joining AEW, Ibushi had been sidelined with a major shoulder injury suffered in late 2021. Since his return, he has dealt with various other physical ailments that have limited his in-ring schedule.
Ibushi officially signed with AEW in July 2023, though his appearances for the company have been limited due to his injury history. In August 2025, he announced that he had signed a new two-year contract extension with AEW.
