Former WWE Tag Team Champion Hospitalized In The ICU With Very Serious Health Issues

Former WWE star Bobby “Sir Mo” Horne, best known as one-half of the 1990s tag team Men on a Mission, is currently in the ICU battling a severe blood infection and pneumonia, according to a statement from Book Pro Wrestlers. The social media post asks for prayers for Horne and his wife, Denise Jones, who is with him at the hospital.

This is the latest in a series of serious health issues for the wrestling veteran. Horne has had a long and difficult battle with his health, which includes receiving a kidney transplant in 2018. In January 2022, his health took a turn for the worse when he contracted COVID-19, which led to a three-week stay in the ICU.

The COVID-19 diagnosis was particularly dangerous for Horne due to the immune-suppressing medication he must take for his transplanted kidney. That same year, he also required emergency hernia surgery, which led to further complications, including pneumonia and the eventual loss of his donor kidney, forcing him to restart dialysis treatments.

Horne, alongside his partner Mabel (Nelson Frazier), joined the then-WWF in 1993 as the babyface tag team Men on a Mission. Accompanied by their rapping manager Oscar, the duo of Mo (Horne) and Mabel wore bright colors and were known for their positive attitude.

The team achieved championship success in the WWF, holding the WWF Tag Team Championship for a brief time in March 1994 after defeating The Quebecers at a house show in London, England. They would lose the titles back to The Quebecers just two days later.

After the team turned heel and Mabel won the 1995 King of the Ring, Men on a Mission disbanded in 1996. Horne continued to wrestle on the independent circuit for many years, running his own promotion and training school in Texas with his wife. His partner, Nelson Frazier, who also went on to be known as Viscera and Big Daddy V in WWE, passed away in 2014. We send our best wishes to Horne and we hope for a speedy recovery.
