WWE NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne suffered an apparent leg injury at an NXT house show tonight, leading to the referee stopping the match and Jayne being helped to the back by WWE medical personnel.
The incident occurred during a tag team match pitting Jayne’s team, Fatal Influence, against the team of Zaruca. According to a fan report from Reddit user RaevynVexus, “towards the end of the match Jacy grabbed at her quad and tagged out of the match quickly after”. The user added, “Ref threw the x up after the match and when she tried to walk back under her own power had to be assisted by WWE medical to the back”.
A video posted to X by user @SNSR619 showed medical personnel checking on Jayne as she was laying at ringside. The user also tweeted, “BREAKING: Jacy Jayne limping backstage after that brutal match! The X was called immediately. Prayers up”. At this time, the nature and severity of the apparent leg injury have not been confirmed by WWE.
The potential injury comes at a significant time for Jayne, who has been a central figure in NXT. On the May 27 episode of NXT, she defeated Stephanie Vaquer to win the NXT Women’s Championship, the top singles title in the brand’s division.
She is also the leader of the heel faction Fatal Influence alongside Fallon Henley. Prior to this, Jayne was involved in a long-running storyline with Chase University, which saw her turn on the group after a storyline involving gambling debts. This is not her first legitimate injury this year; she suffered a broken nose during a match with Thea Hail in April and had to undergo surgery, returning with a protective face mask in June.
Earlier this year, Jayne also made crossover appearances for Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling as part of the partnership between the two companies. At TNA’s Slammiversary event in July, she defeated Masha Slamovich in a Winner Takes All match to become a double champion, holding both the NXT Women’s Championship and the TNA Knockouts World Championship simultaneously.
