Fans at the WWE NXT live event in Detroit tonight were treated to a surprise appearance from Raw superstar Omos, who confronted former NXT Champion Oba Femi in the middle of the ring. The unexpected face-off between the two giants led to “holy sh*t” chants from the live crowd.
The confrontation began with Omos and Femi standing face-to-face in the ring. The two men then shook hands, but Femi refused to let go, leading to a tense staredown. The encounter quickly turned physical as Omos leveled Femi with a clothesline before his music played to end the segment.
This marks a return to the NXT environment for Omos, though he has been active in recent months wrestling for WWE’s international partners. Despite being off WWE television for much of the past year, he has competed in Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH, where he was a former GHC Tag Team Champion, and in Mexico for AAA. He also appeared at an NXT house show last night.
His opponent in the confrontation, Oba Femi, is a powerhouse in his own right and one of NXT’s top stars. Femi recently lost the NXT Championship to Ricky Saints at the No Mercy premium live event, ending his 263-day reign. Prior to that, Femi had a record-breaking 273-day reign as the NXT North American Champion. A former track and field athlete at the University of Alabama, Femi signed with WWE in 2021 as part of the inaugural “Next In Line” class.
The unannounced appearance and physical altercation appears to be a tease for a future program between the two colossal athletes. We will have more on this story as it develops.
