Top WWE Star May Be Dealing With An Injury

The abrupt turn on Seth Rollins by his faction, The Vision, on last week’s episode of WWE Raw appears to have been a storyline decision made to write the World Heavyweight Champion off television due to a legitimate injury. Rollins was seen favoring his shoulder at the Crown Jewel premium live event and was spotted in a sling before the Raw taping.

The closing angle of Raw saw Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, members of The Vision, turn on Rollins after the main event. The show ended with Paul Heyman aligning himself with Breakker and Reed as they stood over a fallen Rollins, effectively ending the faction and writing the champion out of storylines for the foreseeable future.

Signs of an injury were first noticed during Rollins’ main event match at Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia, where he defeated Cody Rhodes to become the new WWE Crown Jewel Champion. After performing a coast-to-coast move during the match, Rollins was seen favoring his shoulder. The concerns were amplified before Raw when he was seen before the show and backstage wearing a sling on his shoulder. A photo of Rollins in the sling has surfaced on social media.

This is not the first time Rollins has dealt with significant injuries. In 2016, he was forced to vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Championship after tearing the ACL, MCL, and medial meniscus in his knee, an injury that kept him out of action for seven months. He has also had a history of back and shoulder issues throughout his career.

The severity of this apparent new shoulder injury is unknown at this time, as is the amount of time he may need to be off television. The post-match angle on Raw, however, has effectively positioned him as a babyface for when he is cleared to return to action, setting up a natural rivalry with his former stablemates, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.
