YouTube megastar IShowSpeed was at the WWE Performance Center this past Monday to film content for his new show, “Speed Goes Pro.” A new report from Fightful Select has confirmed that the popular streamer was at the training facility and is working directly with Randy Orton. The premise of the show involves Speed being trained by top athletes from various sports to see if he has what it takes to compete, and for the third episode of the season, Randy Orton will be the one putting him through the paces of professional wrestling.
The new series, “Speed Goes Pro,” has already featured a major star in its debut episode, as NFL legend Tom Brady was the first athlete to train the YouTube sensation. The show has been an instant success, with the first episode garnering over 5.7 million views on YouTube in its first couple of weeks. For the third episode, the focus will be on the world of professional wrestling, with the 14-time World Champion Randy Orton serving as the mentor. A number of other WWE Superstars were reportedly in attendance for the filming and the premiere of the program, which has already begun to roll out.
This is not IShowSpeed’s first involvement with WWE. He made a memorable, and painful, appearance at WrestleMania 40, where he was on the receiving end of an RKO from Randy Orton while attempting to help Logan Paul in his match. He also got speared by Bron Breakker at the Royal Rumble.
According to the Fightful Select report, WWE has remained open to the idea of IShowSpeed competing in an actual match in the future, though there are no specific plans for that at this time. WWE has found massive success in recent years by bringing in mainstream celebrities and social media stars for matches. Logan Pau and the Grammy-winning musician Bad Bunny have both been praised for their in-ring performances.
