Released WWE Star To Tony Khan: “Your Boy Is Ready…Call Me”

His time in WWE may have come to an abrupt and unexpected end, but BJ Ray is already looking to his future, and he has his sights set on AEW. Just days after the news of his WWE release broke, the former WWE LFG standout took to social media to send a direct message to AEW President Tony Khan.

On October 14, Ray posted a message on social media, directly tagging the AEW owner. “@TonyKhan Your boy is ready… call me 📞 – The Ratings Machine (aka SexyBJRay)”, he wrote. This public call-out comes after Ray revealed that he had been wrestling for two full seasons of LFG with a completely torn rotator cuff and labrum.

The news of his injury, followed by the surprising news of his release, had fans rallying in support of the star. BJ Ray was a breakout personality on the WWE reality series LFG, where his outspoken and often-controversial nature made him a must-see character. His ability to generate a reaction, whether positive or negative, made him a standout among the other contestants.

Now that he is a free agent, he is looking to take that same star power to a new company, and his direct message to Tony Khan makes it clear that AEW is at the top of his list. AEW has a history of bringing in former WWE talent and giving them a platform to reinvent themselves. Perhaps Ray can be the next to do so.
