“You Are a Stalker”: CM Punk Puts His Foot Down on Fan Harassment

In a direct and strongly worded message posted to his Instagram stories, WWE star CM Punk has issued a stern warning to fans who have been crossing personal boundaries by following him to airports and hotels. The former multi-time world champion called out this behavior, stating that those who engage in it are not fans, but “stalkers,” and will be treated as such.

“We unfortunately have to have this conversation again,” Punk’s post began. “Do not turn up at airports. Do not show up at hotels. I cannot believe I have to say this. DO NOT FOLLOW PEOPLE”.

He continued by stating that these individuals have been repeatedly asked to stop. “You’ve repeatedly been politely told no, respect it,” he wrote. “You are not a fan, you are a stalker and will be treated as such. Respect the boundaries. Stop harassing people”.

This is not the first time a major wrestling star has had to publicly address issues with fans overstepping their boundaries. The ease of access to travel information and the constant connectivity of social media have led to an increase in incidents where fans attempt to track down wrestlers in their private time, often for autographs or photos.

Many wrestlers have shared stories of being followed through airports, having their hotel room numbers requested from the front desk, or being approached while eating at restaurants with their families. While most fan interactions are positive, these more extreme instances have become a recurring issue in the industry.

CM Punk, as one of the most recognizable and popular figures in modern wrestling, has been a frequent target of this type of behavior throughout his career.
