Dominik Mysterio On John Cena: “If That Old Geezer Wants Me To Put A Final Nail In His Coffin, I’ll Be More Than Happy To”

As John Cena’s professional wrestling career winds down, Dominik Mysterio has made it clear he would be willing to face the 16-time world champion. In a recent interview, Mysterio responded to the possibility of being the one to prevent Cena from achieving a career milestone before his retirement.

During an interview with Graps & Yaps, the scenario was presented to Mysterio regarding John Cena’s final run in WWE. The interviewer noted that Cena has never won the Intercontinental Championship, the one title that prevents him from being recognized as a Grand Slam Champion. When asked his thoughts on Cena potentially coming for a championship to complete the achievement, Mysterio did not hesitate to issue a challenge.

“I mean at the end of the day, I’m here,” Mysterio stated. “If John Cena wants some, he can come get some. He’s got four dates left you said?” Mysterio continued, directly addressing the idea of facing the future Hall of Famer in one of his final matches.

The Judgment Day member then added a personal insult, staying true to his on-screen character. “I mean if that old geezer wants me to put a final nail in his coffin, I’ll be more than happy to,” Mysterio said. He emphasized his readiness for any high-profile opponent who wants to challenge him.

“You know, that’s what I’m here for,” Mysterio continued. “I’m here to be and stay your dirty double champ.” Mysterio, a prominent figure on WWE programming, has become one of the most talked-about villains in the company and a match against a legendary figure like Cena would be a significant main event attraction.

John Cena has won the WWE Championship, the World Heavyweight Championship, the United States Championship, and the Tag Team Championship. The Intercontinental Title remains the only major singles championship in WWE that has eluded him throughout his decorated career. With his retirement imminent, any remaining match holds significant weight, particularly if a championship is on the line.
