An update has been provided regarding the recent absence of WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella from Monday Night Raw. Bella has not appeared on the show for several weeks, leading some fans to wonder if her latest return run with the company had come to a quiet end. However, a new report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select indicates that Bella is still very much a part of WWE’s plans.
Still Part of The Plan
During a Q&A session with Fightful Select subscribers, Sapp was asked about Bella’s status. He confirmed that her run has not ended and that she is expected to be a part of the show going forward. “The last I’d heard she would be around here and there,” Sapp said. “I don’t think there were any real plans for her in Australia so there wasn’t a great need to have her around for the build to that. They expect Nikki to be on the show for a while, from everything that I’ve heard.”
Fellow Hall of Famer Trish Stratus was expected to appear more frequently, but has recently been dealing with the loss of her mother.
Here For The Long Haul
Nikki Bella herself has stated that her latest run is about more than just nostalgia. In an August interview with The TakeDown on SI, she explained her desire to prove she can still perform at a high level and help elevate the current women’s division.
“Why can’t women my age do it too? Why does it always have to be for one big PLE? We come in for a few weeks and then we’re gone,” Bella said. “Why can’t we come in for a while and see how I can hang with the younger era? I’m not here to take spots, I’m here for anything to help the people that we need to make.”
Nikki Bella’s last televised appearance saw her in a backstage segment with members of Damage CTRL and Rhea Ripley, and her most recent match was against Asuka on the September 8 edition of Raw. With Survivor Series: WarGames approaching in November, the women’s division storylines are heating up.
