Matt Hardy: “I Think It’s A Great Idea To Roll The Dice On” Bron Breakker

Matt Hardy has weighed in on the recent injury to WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and the company’s apparent creative pivot to elevate Bron Breakker into his spot. On the latest episode of his podcast, The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, he stated that if Rollins is going to be out for a significant amount of time, giving Breakker the opportunity to step up is a “great idea.”

A Good Call for WWE

Hardy discussed the unfortunate situation surrounding Rollins’ injury and the subsequent storyline on Monday Night Raw that saw The Vision turn on their leader. With Rollins seemingly out of the picture, WWE has positioned Bron Breakker to step into a main event role, a move that Hardy supports. “I mean, if Seth is going to be out for a significant amount of time, like, I don’t think that’s a bad call to let Bron have his opportunity to step up like he’s so physically impressive, and the little bit of personality and promos I’ve seen him do, I’ve really enjoyed thus far.”

Rolling the Dice on Potential

Hardy believes this is the right time to test Breakker’s potential as a top-level star for the company. He sees it as a low-risk, high-reward situation for WWE. “And I guess we’ll see, we’ll see how much potential he truly has,” Hardy continued. “So I think it’s a great idea to roll the dice on.”

Following the injury to Seth Rollins, WWE has been forced to alter its creative plans for the World Heavyweight Championship. With Rollins expected to be sidelined for an extended period, possibly through WrestleMania, the title is expected to be vacated. Bron Breakker appears to be the immediate beneficiary of this creative shift and is expected to be a central figure in the World Heavyweight Championship picture moving forward.
