The recent shoulder injury to Seth Rollins has forced a significant overhaul of WWE’s creative plans. According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, prior to Rollins being sidelined, there were plans in place for his former stablemates, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, to capture the World Tag Team Championships.
The Vision’s Planned Dominance
The report from Dave Meltzer indicates that WWE’s creative team intended for The Vision to hold a majority of the gold on the Raw brand. This would have solidified the group as the top faction on Monday nights. “In addition, there were plans for the Vision to dominate Raw even more very shortly with Rollins as world champion and Reed & Breakker as world tag team champions”. This plan would have seen three of the brand’s championships all held by one group, creating a powerful force for the rest of the roster to overcome.
Accelerated Timeline
The injury to Rollins, which occurred during his match against Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel on October 11, moved up the timeline for a major angle involving the group. Meltzer notes that the plan for The Vision was for Rollins to lead the Raw brand until Bron Breakker was “deemed ready” for a main event push, at which point WWE would “pull the trigger on him”.
The turn and breakup of the group that occurred on Raw was reportedly something that would have happened in some form in 2026, well after a planned WrestleMania match between Rollins and Roman Reigns.
Creative Overhaul
The injury is expected to require surgery and keep Rollins out of action for an extended period, forcing WWE to scrap its immediate plans. This included a scheduled World Heavyweight Championship defense against CM Punk at the November 1 Saturday Night’s Main Event and a WarGames match at Survivor Series that would have featured Rollins as the captain of a team with Breakker and Reed.
The angle on Raw that saw Breakker and Reed attack Rollins and align with Paul Heyman was a direct result of the injury and was not originally scheduled for that show.
