WATCH: Drew McIntyre Snaps After Controversial WWE SmackDown Finish

Drew McIntyre has released an intense promo reacting to the controversial ending of his WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes on the October 17th episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The main event bout ended in a disqualification when Rhodes used his championship title as a weapon against McIntyre, allowing Rhodes to retain the title due to champion’s advantage.

McIntyre’s promo, posted the morning after the show, revealed his frustration and dark thoughts following yet another missed opportunity. In the self-recorded video, McIntyre admitted that talking to himself is his form of therapy as he tried to process the events. He expressed confusion and anger over the repeated setbacks he’s faced. “I don’t know what to do at this point. There’s time after time after time this keeps happening,” McIntyre stated.

He noted that WWE Champion Cody Rhodes granted him the title match but then caused the disqualification himself, robbing McIntyre of the chance to win cleanly. Anticipating fan backlash, he added, “I’m sure when I talk about it next week and right now, people are gonna blame me and say I’m whiny”.

McIntyre then revealed the extent of his immediate reaction to the loss. “My first reaction was, torch his bus. Make sure his family weren’t on, but torch his bus,” he admitted. He credited Sheamus with calming him down and getting him on a flight home. Despite arriving at 5 a.m. with no sleep, McIntyre went straight to the gym to train legs.

“Gotta keep going. I gotta keep going. I can’t give up. I won’t give up. I’m a psychopath. I’m a psychopath because I’m in the gym right now. Doing legs after yesterday,” he declared. He concluded the promo with a chilling warning to Rhodes, vowing to capture the WWE Championship no matter the cost.

“I won’t stop. I don’t care how many people corporate Cody’s got behind him that title’s mine. I’m gonna get it. No matter what it takes. You can’t compete with a psychopath,” McIntyre warned. He emphasized the sacrifices he’s made, stating, “I’ve forsaken a family. For this industry. For that title. It’s a life I’ve chosen”.

McIntyre promised that “next week’s going to be hell for Cody” and that he would secure his championship moment “no matter what it takes”.
