Austin Theory, who was written off WWE television due to an injury several months ago, still maintains strong internal support within the company and is expected to return to the screen in a significant capacity soon. This comes despite the abrupt changes to the Raw main event scene following Seth Rollins’ shoulder injury.
According to WrestleVotes, there are people in WWE who want to keep Theory involved in big creative storylines. The news was shared in a social media post that stated: “Sources indicate there are still voices within the company pushing to keep Austin Theory involved in creative plans, even after the recent shuffling caused by Seth Rollins’ injury”.
The report indicated that creative plans for Theory may have already included joining the now-imploded faction led by Rollins. Theory, a two-time former United States Champion, was discussed as a potential member of The Vision, which at the time consisted of Rollins, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and manager Paul Heyman. The faction, formed at WrestleMania 41 in April 2025, was unexpectedly cut short when Breakker and Reed betrayed Rollins on the October 13 episode of Raw.
WrestleVotes confirmed that, despite the sudden change in direction, Theory is still a valued part of the creative discussion. “The idea of Theory joining The Vision was at least discussed, and he still has internal support moving forward to reappear on TV in a significant manner”. Theory’s tag team, A-Town Down Under, dissolved when he was moved to the internal injury list in August 2025, following a storyline injury.
The injury is expected to keep Rollins out for months and potentially impact plans for WrestleMania 42 in April 2026. We wish him a speedy recovery.
