An injury to NXT Women’s North American Champion Sol Ruca has forced a change to the upcoming Halloween Havoc premium live event. On the October 21, 2025, edition of WWE NXT, NXT General Manager Ava was in the ring to address the championship match. Sol Ruca then came to the ring using a cane and wearing a knee brace, accompanied by Zaria.
Ruca announced that she sustained an injury during her tag team match on SmackDown, where she teamed with Zaria against Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Due to the injury, Ruca stated she is not medically cleared to compete and cannot defend her North American Championship against Blake Monroe at Halloween Havoc.
Blake Monroe then interrupted the segment. Monroe argued that since Ruca is unable to defend the title and does not know when she will be cleared, Monroe should be awarded the championship by forfeit. Zaria immediately confronted Monroe, telling her, “she doesn’t deserve the championship.” Ruca then told Zaria that “Monroe is right,” acknowledging the uncertainty of her own recovery timeline.
This prompted Zaria to make a proposal: she offered to defend the championship for Sol Ruca against Monroe at Halloween Havoc. Ava considered the idea, stating it was “a good idea,” but left the final decision up to the champion, Ruca.
Ruca, after a moment of consideration, stated that she “fought so hard to win the title.” She then agreed to the proposal, placing her trust in Zaria. Ava made the match official. As Monroe began to argue with Ava over the decision, Zaria attacked her, picking Monroe up and delivering a modified F5 to end the segment.
