Second-Generation Star Debuts, Tony Khan Promises Future PPV At AEW Collision Taping

AEW taped the upcoming October 25 episode of AEW Collision at the Boeing Centre at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas, following the live broadcast of AEW Dynamite on Wednesday night. The taping featured the AEW debut of a second-generation wrestler and a promise from AEW President Tony Khan regarding a future PPV in the city.

During the tapings, Tony Khan addressed the San Antonio crowd, thanking them for their passionate reactions throughout both the Dynamite and Collision recordings. Khan promised the fans he would find a way to schedule a future AEW PPV event in San Antonio. While stating nothing was officially scheduled yet, Khan reportedly noted the crowd’s energy convinced him to “figure it out” and also pledged to bring television tapings back to the city “again and again.”

The Collision taping itself featured several matches, including the debut of Olympia, who secured a victory over Taya Valkyrie. Olympia is the daughter of former CMLL World Trios Champion El Valiente, and her ring name references her aspirations in professional bodybuilding.

Also featured was a $400,000 Match, set up during the preceding Dynamite broadcast. This eight-man tag team contest saw Jurassic Express (Jack Perry & Luchasaurus) team with JetSpeed (Mike Bailey & Kevin Knight) to defeat FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson).

The taping also included fallout from Dynamite, where Mercedes Mone learned her opponent for the upcoming Full Gear PPV on November 22. Additionally, the bracket for the inaugural AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Tournament was revealed on Dynamite, with the tournament set to begin next week.
