The recent injury to Seth Rollins, which forced him to vacate his world championship, has been a major story in the wrestling world. On his podcast, “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy,” Matt Hardy shared his thoughts on the injury and the new title picture.
Praise for Seth Rollins
Hardy reflected on his time working with Rollins in WWE, calling him a true professional. “Getting to work with him when I was there from 2017 to 2020 was a privilege,” he stated. “It was great to kind of see the way his mind worked and the way he looks at the business. He really is someone who’s a student of the game, and he’s on top of his shit.”
“He was having such a good run,” Hardy concluded, also noting the run he and his wife were on. “So I hate that. He unfortunately got hurt, but, you know, that kind of comes with the territory, right?”
The World Title Picture:
With Rollins out, the conversation turned to who should be the next champion. Hardy gave his strong endorsement for Punk, stating he has earned another run at the top.
“I do think Punk deserves a legitimate world title with all his work since he went back. I think he’s been great,” Hardy said. I would like to see that happen at some point, because I truly do think seeing Punk is deserving of it. He has worked really hard. He’s been ahuge part of the WWE product since he’s been back and returned, and that is something he is deserving of.”
Regarding Braun Breaker, Hardy said, “I think when it’s all said and done, I think within the next year, Braun Breakker is going to ascend to this position that you’re wishing for him (champion),” He also included a “funny tidbit,” joking, “And genetically, he’s really good at math, too.”
