Goldberg Reveals He Spoke To Hulk Hogan A Week Before He Passed

The professional wrestling world continues to mourn the loss of Hulk Hogan, who passed away on July 24th at the age of 71. Hogan’s career was filled with iconic moments, but one of his most memorable losses came in 1998 when he was defeated by Goldberg for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

Goldberg appeared on Real Talk with Mike Burke. He was asked about his personal relationship with the legend he famously dethroned.

Goldberg on His Relationship with Hogan

Goldberg revealed that he was fairly close with Hogan, who served as a mentor to him during his career. “I was pretty close with him. I can’t say we hung out all the time, but he was a huge influence in my life,” Goldberg said.

He explained that Hogan went out of his way to help him in ways he didn’t have to. “He taught me stuff that he never had to teach me. He took time with me in situations that he never had to do, and I realize people do it for a certain reason sometimes, but he was a good dude. He always treated me with respect. We all have our days,” he stated.

Their Final Conversation

When asked by Burke when he last had the chance to speak with Hogan, Goldberg gave a poignant answer, revealing their final conversation was very recent.

“It was about a week before (he passed),” Goldberg replied.
