CM Punk: I’m “Doing What To Me Is The Best Work Of My Career”

CM Punk believes he has never been better. Despite a long career that began on the independent scene in 1997, “The Second City Saint” feels his current run in WWE is the best of his career. In a new interview with KSL News Utah, CM Punk discussed his longevity and why he feels he is at his peak, even at 47 years old.

“I’m fortunate that I’m continuing to level up in this business. I just turned 47 the other day, and some people would say that’s a detriment; I think it’s one of the more positive things about me. I’m ‘this old’ and operating on this level, doing what to me is the best work of my career.”

Up next for Punk is Saturday Night’s Main Event. Tomorrow night in Salt Lake City, the Chicagoan will face Jey Uso for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship. “The Straight Edge Saviour” is looking to reclaim the title he held for just a matter of minutes at SummerSlam.

At that event, Punk defeated GUNTHER to win the championship, only for Seth Rollins to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and take the title from him. The Saturday Night’s Main Event card also features Drew McIntyre challenging Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
