Tiffany Stratton – Jade Cargill confrontation
WWE SmackDown started with Tiffany Stratton coming to the ring and called out Jade Cargill. SmackDown GM Nick Aldis came to the ring. He said Tiffany is cleared “as tolerated”, meaning she can’t have any physical contact before her match tomorrow at Saturday Night Main Event. Tiffany said she doesn’t care and challenged Jade to come out. Jade came halfway down the aisle. Aldis reminded Jade that there will be no physical activity. Aldis called for security and they came out. Jade said Tiffy Time is going to be up tomorrow. Tiffany ran out of the ring and tried to attack Jade, but got stopped by security.

Ilja Dragunov was in the ring getting ready for somebody to accept his United States Championship Open Challenge. Fraxiom was on their way down with Nathan Frazier ready to accept the challenge. United States Championship Open Challenge Match: Ilja Dragunov (Champion) vs Nathan Frazier
Dragunov chopped Frazier’s chest to the point that you can see the Mark’s on his chest. Frazier hit Dragunov with a Phoenix Splash off the top rope for a two-count. Frazier climbed up to the top rope again, but Dragunov met him up there and gave him a belly-to-back suplex with Frazier looking like he landed on his neck for a near fall. There seemed to be some hesitation at that point. I’m not sure if Frazier got injured or they forgot what to do next. Dragunov then hit Frazier with a powerbomb and an H-Bomb and pinned him to retain the championship. They hugged and shook hands.
After the match, Ciampa ran down the aisle and hit Frazier from behind.
Winner and still United States Champion: Ilja Dragunov

During the commercial break, Axiom came down and attacked Ciampa. Johnny Gargano came down to help Ciampa. Dragunov helped Fraxiom battle Gargano and Ciampa. They then cut to the back for the live action where they continued to fight until officials separated them.
Dragunov turned around and Tama Tonga was holding Dragunov’s belt. He snarled at him, shoved the belt in his chest, and walked away.
Carmelo Hayes vs Kit Wilson
Hayes dove over the top rope onto Wilson and then threw him back in the ring. As the referee was checking on Wilson, The Miz appeared and threw Hayes shoulder first into the ring post. Miz threw Hayes into the ring. Wilson came off the top rope onto Hayes with a flying elbow for a two-count. Wilson charged at Hayes but Hayes caught him with a Code Breaker and pinned him. After the match, Miz hit Hayes with a Skull Crushing Finale.
Winner: Carmelo Hayes

Aldis asked Cody if he had anything to do with the attack on Jacob Fatu. Cody said no, he likes Jacob, and was sorry to hear what happened to him.
Aldis pulled out the contract for his match with Drew McIntyre. He told Cody he also has a copy and assumes everything is okay with it. Cody said he knows it’s on the up and up and he doesn’t need to show it to him, but he needs to show it to Drew.

Aldis asked Drew McIntyre if he had a chance to look over the contract for his match with Cody Rhodes and if it was okay with him. Drew said, yes.
Next week on SmackDown:
- Talla Tonga vs Rey Fenix
- Ilja Dragunov’s United States Title Open Challenge
- Charlotte Flair vs Nia Jax
Contract Signing: Cody Rhodes – Drew McIntyre
Drew said he can’t sign it as it’s completely one-sided. Cody grabbed the contract and signed it. Drew said Cody keeps the title if he gets counted out or gets disqualified. Aldis told Drew if he doesn’t want to sign the contract, he will get somebody from the back that will be glad to sign it. Drew said, okay, and was getting up to leave. Cody told Drew that he will agree to losing the title on a count-out or a disqualification as he is not looking for an easy way out with him. Drew said he is okay with that. Aldis said he isn’t. Cody asked Aldis to agree to the stipulations. Aldis agreed and Drew signed the contract.
McIntyre then mentioned Cody’s daughters to rile him up. He then hit Cody with a Claymore kick and gave him a power bomb through the table.
