WWE Star Wants To End John Cena’s Career: ‘He Screwed My Father’s Career Over’

Earlier tonight, on the November 1st edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, WWE announced the ‘Last Time is Now’ tournament to determine John Cena’s final opponent. Almost immediately after the announcement, 24-year-old NXT star Brooks Jensen expressed his interest in facing the legend, citing a long-held personal vendetta.

Explaining his motivation on social media, Jensen wrote, “It’s been 22 years since John Cena screwed my father’s career over… maybe my time is now.”

The 22-Year-Old Grudge

Jensen is the son of former WWE star Bull Buchanan. In 2003, Buchanan was repackaged as Cena’s hypeman, ‘B²,’ during Cena’s “Doctor of Thuganomics” run on SmackDown. The partnership was short-lived, as Cena turned his back on Buchanan. While Cena’s career ascended, Buchanan was sent back to OVW and was later released by the company.

Looking to avenge his father’s humiliation, Jensen has publicly teased going after Cena, dropping several other cryptic posts about his father’s past partnership with the 17-time World Champion.

‘Last Time Is Now’ Tournament

The ‘Last Time Is Now’ tournament is scheduled to begin on the November 10th episode of Raw. It will feature 16 participants from RawSmackDownNXT, and, some competitors not currently employed by WWE. The winner of the tournament will earn the right to face John Cena in his final-ever match. That match is scheduled for the December 13th edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington D.C.

While Jensen has made his motivation clear, he is not the only star lobbying for a spot. Since the announcement, other superstars, including Grayson Waller and Austin Theory, have also taken to social media to campaign for their inclusion in the bracket.
