Triple H Reveals The Number One Trait He Looks For In New WWE Superstars

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H is in charge of finding the next generation of superstars, and he says the single most important trait he looks for isn’t athleticism—it’s charisma.

During an interview on the All-In Podcast, Triple H discussed WWE’s recruitment efforts, which include a robust NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) program for college athletes. He was asked what it takes to make it in the business.

“The key to it, really, is charisma and your innate ability to connect with people,” he stated.

Charisma Over Knowledge

Triple H explained that the ability to connect is more valuable than any other skill. “I truly feel like for a lot of people, [success] can be a lot less about all the things you know and how good you are at them, as the charisma to get people to listen to you,” he said.

He said that WWE is a unique “combination of everything,” including athleticism, showmanship, and media skills, which the company teaches “from day one coming in the door.”

Prepared For Anything

This intense training in all areas of media and performance is why Triple H believes that succeeding in WWE prepares a person for any other field.

“When you leave WWE… you are so well suited to do just about anything in life,” he said. “It’s amazing to me when I walk through the White House, how many people in the White House are huge fans of WWE.”
