Opening Segment On WWE Raw Caused Backstage Scramble

A backstage note has come out regarding Monday’s WWE Raw opening segment. The November 3 show from Rio Rancho, New Mexico, involved the new World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, the returning Logan Paul, and The Vision (Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed).

Punk opened Monday’s Raw, celebrating his title victory over Jey Uso at Saturday Night’s Main Event. He listed off potential challengers before being interrupted by Logan Paul. The Vision then interrupted Paul, leading to Reed and Breakker attacking both Punk and Paul. Paul reluctantly fought alongside Punk, who eventually cleared the ring with a chair.

According to Bryan Alvarez, the opening segment ran roughly ten minutes longer than originally scripted. This reportedly caused a scramble to make up the lost time in later segments. Alvarez wrote: “Opening segment went approximately ten minutes long and they were scrambling.”

The rest of the show featured several matches that were confirmed ahead of the broadcast. This included a World Tag Team Championship match where AJ Styles and Dragon Lee defeated Finn Balor and JD McDonagh. The show also saw Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez defeat Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer and Nikki Bella in a tag team match. The main event saw CM Punk team with Jey Uso to face Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, which ended in a double countout before Logan Paul attacked Punk.
