Tomohiro Ishii is injured. The Conglomeration member suffered a dislocated right shoulder during the October 22 AEW Collision taping in San Antonio, Texas, in a match against PAC. NJPW announced the injury in a press release on Wednesday.
NJPW Confirms Injury
“On October 22, at an AEW event in San Antonio, Texas, Tomohiro Ishii sustained a dislocated right shoulder. As a result, Ishii will miss action on forthcoming events, with his return to be determined. We apologise to fans who were looking forward to seeing Ishii wrestle, and appreciate your understanding. NJPW joins fans in wishing Ishii a full and fast recovery.”
World Tag League Status
The 49-year-old recently dropped the IWGP Tag Team titles alongside Taichi to Yuto-Ice and OSKAR at Destruction in Kobe on September 28. NJPW also revealed the teams for its upcoming World Tag League on Wednesday, with Ishii left off the lineup. Taichi will team with Satoshi Kojima in the tournament.
2025 AEW Run
Ishii has split his time between AEW and NJPW in 2025. He wrestled three matches for AEW in October: a loss to PAC on Collision, a tag loss with The Conglomeration on the WrestleDream pre-show against The Death Riders, and a singles loss to Jon Moxley on the October 7 Dynamite.
The match where Ishii sustained the injury aired on the October 25 episode of AEW Collision, which saw PAC defeat the NJPW star. The injury means Ishii will miss the upcoming World Tag League, which is scheduled to begin on November 20. The current IWGP Tag Team Champions who defeated Ishii and Taichi, Yuto-Ice and OSKAR, are members of the NJPW stable Vanguard.
