Cody Rhodes – Aleister Black Match set up for tonight:
WWE SmackDown started with Cody Rhodes coming to the ring. Cody said it was Drew McIntyre who introduced the WWE Championship into the match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. He said Drew is one of the most self-sabotaging wrestlers in the history of the business, and at this point, he’s moving on. Drew is now in the rear view mirror. Cody said he is going to sit with the fans to watch the show and see who is next in line for his championship.
Aleister Black and Zelina came to the ring. Black said he has a chip on his shoulder and it’s the size of the Undisputed WWE title. Cody took off his suit, turned around, and Zelina slapped him in the face.
SmackDown GM Nick Aldis came out and told Black he can fight Cody in the ring tonight.

Ilja Dragunov’s United States Title Open Challenge: Johnny Gargano
Tommaso Ciampa came down the aisle with Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae. He said he took issue with the fact that Dragunov denied his challenge last week and called him a jackass. Dragunov said he will accept the match to take on…Johnny Gargano.
With the referee distracted, LeRae tripped Dragunov as he was coming off the ropes. Gargano gave Dragunov with a tornado DDT for a near fall. Dragunov came back by giving Gargano a superplex off the top rope an H-Bomb to pin him and retain the title.

Backstage:
Sami Zayn told Nick Aldis that he knows he’s not cleared to compete, but he wants to be in the corner of Rey Fenix because the MFTs will outnumber him. Aldis said, no, because he wants Zayn to get healthy. Aldis said with all do respect, he’s not asking him, he’s telling him to not go out there. Zayn said okay, but he’s not going to stand by and watch for much longer, and left the room.
R-Truth came in. He said he wants to have a chance to be entered in the John Cena Last Time is Now Tournament. Aldis told him he’s already in it.
Backstage:
Gargano and Ciampa were in the back. Fraxiom walked by them and made fun of the fact that Dragunov called Ciampa a jackass.
Jade Cargill: “I’m that bitch.”
Jade Cargill came to the ring. She said, “What happened to Tiffany goes for every woman in that locker room. Make no mistake about it. I’m that bitch.” As she left the ring, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss were coming out for Charlotte’s match. They exchanged words with Jade and continued to walk to the ring. Charlotte started to turn around and thought about going after Jade, but Alexa stopped her.

Backstage:
Michin and B-Fab told Chelsea Green that she is going to lose to Giulia tonight. Green said she’s the greatest champion on SmackDown. She turned around and Jade Cargill was standing there. Green looked scared, backed down, and left. Jade stepped in front of B-Fab to go to the locker room. Jade said she does what she wants and challenged her to a match next week, which B-Fab accepted.
Nia Jax vs Charlotte Flair (w/ Alexa Bliss)
Nia went for the Annihilator, but Charlotte moved out of the way. Lash Legend came out of the stands and attacked Bliss and caught her in a chokehold. With Charlotte distracted by this, Jax hit her from behind, gave her the Annihilator, and pinned her.

Backstage:
Nick Aldis drew the next two match-ups in the Last Time Is Now Tournament. The first match is The Miz vs Jey Uso. The second match pits LA Knight, but he said he’s going to keep Knight’s opponent a surprise for now.

Nia Jax said Lash Legend is her friend because she’s a badass. Legend said her and Nia are going straight to the top, and tonight is just the beginning.

Women’s United States Championship Match: Giulia (w/ Kiana James) vs Chelsea Green (w/ Alba Fyre)
Ethan Page, who holds the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship with Green, was sitting in the front row. With the referee distracted, James gave Green a forearm shot. Fyre came over and superkicked James. Giulia turned her back to kick Fyre. Green rolled up Giulia and pinned her with her feet on the ropes to win the United States Championship. After the match, Page lifted Green on his shoulders.

Backstage:
The MFTs were talking about Talla Tonga’s match with Rey Fenix. Solo Sikoa told Talla he wanted him to crush Fenix. As they left, we saw that the Wyatt Sicks were in the background.
Backstage:
As Charlotte Flair was putting an ice pack on Alexa Bliss’ neck, The Kabuki Warriors came in with medical outfits and masks on. Asuka pulled down her mask and blew mist in Charlotte and Alexa’s face.
Talla Tonga (w/ The MFTs) vs Rey Fenix
Fenix came off the top rope with a flying body press on Talla for a near fall. Fenix came off the top rope again, but this time Talla caught him and gave him a powerbomb. He then gave Fenix a chokeslam and pinned him.
Winner: Talla Tonga
After the match, Solo ordered Talla to attack Fenix. As he was about to pick up Fenix, Sami Zayn’s music played. As Sami came to the ring with a chair, Solo and Talla left the ring.

Backstage:
The Miz said what he did to Carmelo Hayes last week is a reminder of what he’s capable of. There shouldn’t be a tournament to see who fights John Cena in his final match. He should be his opponent. He said he will be at Jey Uso and win this tournament.
Cody Rhodes vs Aleister Black (w/ Zelina)
Cody hit the Cody Cutter for a two-count. Black kicked Cody and caught him with a German Suplex for a near fall. Black blocked the Cross Rhodes. They exchanged kicks and both men went down. Drew McIntyre hit the ring and gave the referee a Claymore kick. Cody jumped Drew. Black and Drew double-teamed Cody until Damian Priest hit the ring. Priest and Cody brawled with Black and Drew. Black then raked Priest’s bad eye. Cody gave Drew a cutter.
Nick Aldis came out and said he’s had enough of Drew McIntrye and suspended him to end the show.
