Following Chelsea Green’s big Women’s United States Championship victory on SmackDown, her husband, Matt Cardona, posted a heartfelt and proud message on X.
Cardona began his post by sharing the simple advice he gives to other wrestlers who ask for it. “When wrestlers ask me for advice, I say don’t quit…that’s it,” he wrote. “You might make it if you don’t. You definitely won’t make it if you do.”
‘Proof’ of Perseverance
He then pointed to his wife as the perfect embodiment of that advice. “@ImChelseaGreen is proof of that,” Cardona stated.
He reflected on her difficult journey, which has included multiple releases and setbacks, describing her career as one of “highs and lows.”
‘Did the Work… Did the Extra Work’
Cardona praised Green’s relentless work ethic and attitude through all the difficulties. “didn’t complain…did the work…did the extra work…was Alwayz Ready!” he wrote.
He couldn’t resist a reference to his own catchphrase, adding, “(she’ll hate that I said the part)”.
Cardona concluded his public message with a simple and loving sign-off. “I’m very proud of you babe…I love you.”
