Big John Cena Match Planned For WWE Raw

A major championship match is reportedly planned for tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Boston. According to a new report from Bodyslam.net, John Cena will challenge Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship on the show.

The Intercontinental title is the one championship he has never won in his career. WWE did not previously advertise the match. WWE originally had this match planned for Survivor Series, but it has been moved up seemingly for Mysterio vs. Rey Mysterio, which was teased a week ago.

Tonight’s show, which emanates from Cena’s hometown of Boston, is already a stacked card as it will kick off the “Last Time Is Now” tournament to determine Cena’s final opponent for his retirement match in December.

The currently advertised lineup for tonight’s show includes two other championship bouts. The WWE Women’s World Champion, Stephanie Vaquer, is set to defend her title against Raquel Rodriguez. Additionally, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair, will defend their belts against The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane). Also scheduled for tonight:

  • John Cena opens the show
  • World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk to appear
  • Women’s World Championship: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Raquel Rodriguez
  • WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss (c) vs. The Kabuki Warriors
  • ‘Last Time Is Now’ Tournament Match: Sheamus vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
  • ‘Last Time Is Now’ Tournament Match: Damian Priest vs. Rusev
