John Cena Shares Emotional ‘Thank You’ Message to Boston
Following his historic and final hometown appearance on Monday Night Raw, new Intercontinental Champion John Cena posted on X an emotional thank-you message to the city of Boston.
The night was monumental for Cena, as he not only competed for the last time in the TD Garden but also won the Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his career by defeating Dominik Mysterio.
“Thank you Boston,” Cena began his post. “It meant so much to be able, for one last time, to be allowed an opportunity to do what I love, in a place I love, surrounded by those I love.”
‘Grateful Disbelief & Appreciation’
Cena, who has long credited the audience for his success, continued by showing his gratitude to the fans who have supported him.
“Our performances are only meaningful if YOU the audience invest in us and decide they are,” he wrote. “The smile on my face and awe in my eyes in this small clip is an honest show of grateful disbelief & appreciation for all you’ve ever invested in me.”
The victory adds an incredible new chapter to his “Last Time is Now” retirement tour, which is set to conclude on December 13th at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Cena finished his message by trying to put the historic night into words. “Last night meant more than I can ever express. Thank you Boston.”
