Eddie Kingston has announced plans to step away from independent wrestling, confirming this is his final indie run. Kingston made his in-ring return at AEW All Out in September, having been sidelined with an injury since May 2024.
Kingston Details His Plan
Having previously revealed he contemplated retiring while absent from wrestling, Kingston has now revealed his future plans. Addressing his upcoming independent run, Kingston stated that this would be the last of his career in a post on Threads.
“So this is my last indy run. Doing Beyond and a show in Jersey this weekend. After that, I am taking only one show a month. By next November, I am done with the indies and yeah nothing more too it. As of now, I have December and March, April, May.”
Kingston was previously announced for Beyond Wrestling’s Novembercanrana on November 14 in Cranston, Rhode Island. The inaugural AEW Continental Champion, Kingston, has made a recent return, teaming with HOOK. He has also stated that he almost quit AEW a number of times during his absence.
Kingston’s focus in AEW appears to be on The Opps. On the November 5 episode of Dynamite, HOOK, Kingston, and Adam Page teamed up in a losing effort against the AEW World Trios Champions The Opps (Katsuyori Shibata, Powerhouse Hobbs & Samoa Joe).
