Backstage News On Adam Copeland’s AEW Status Amid Hiatus

Adam Copeland won’t be back on AEW programming in the immediate future. The former Edge has been away from AEW TV since the post-All Out episode of Dynamite in September.

Why Copeland Is Away

On that September episode, Copeland told Christian Cage he needed to step away to find himself. This storyline moment came after he watched FTR take out Beth Phoenix following Copeland and Christian’s win over Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler at All Out.

Copeland initially stepped away from AEW due to filming for Percy and The Olympians, but he is now filming another project. According to PWInsider, Copeland has been spotted in London, England, due to filming on The Beekeeper 2. The report notes that the former WWE Champion will be working on the project for the “majority of November.”

‘The Beekeeper 2’ Filming Details

The Beekeeper 2 is an action movie starring Jason Statham as a retired government assassin. Filming for the sequel began around one month ago, and scenes for the movie were shot around Canary Wharf earlier thismonth.

Production has since moved to Greenham Common, the area of heathland famous for the former Royal Air Force station. According to Newbury Today, explosions and a “gigantic fireball” were recently used on set for the film. This resulted in concerned residents calling West Berkshire Council to find out what was going on.

While Copeland is away filming, his storyline rivals remain active in AEW. Christian Cage is not currently scheduled for a match at the upcoming Full Gear event on November 22.
